Written on the threads of celluloid time, Eric Walker traveled to distant planets via George Lucas and his two spin off tales entitled The Ewok Adventures, and The Battle for Endor. The films have recently been released on a two DVD movie set under the name Star Wars Ewok Adventures: Caravan of Courage and Ewoks: The Battle For Endor. Unknowing to Eric Walker however, the simple magnificence of these ‘Ewok films’ would leave an indelible mark in the Star Wars universe. On the planet Endor Eric portrayed a heroic character named Mace Towani. In the world of make believe Mace would become an unforgettable hero to many. Eric now finds himself appearing at various sci-fi and other entertainment related conventions all over the world, as a kind of walking ode to a movie role he played so long ago. But time can never remove valid human emotion, whether that emotion is inspired by fiction or life itself. In the sequel The Battle for Endor, Mace dies dramatically, though pre-maturely. But in the minds of many fans the world over, Mace Towani lives. Beyond the good vs evil narrative element, the human message within the Ewok films reminds us of the importance of virtue and the sacred principles of family. We see this in Mace’s brotherly love for his little sister Cindel Towani, (played by Aubree Miller), and their desperate search for their parents. And certainly in some way with each sci-fi convention appearance, Eric brings the nobility and charm of Mace Towani with him. Eric has embraced what has become an ongoing celebration and recognition of a lesser known but truly essential part of the Star Wars universe. And in doing that he brings a palpable excitement not lost in the shadows of things past, but of those things we hold so precious. Things like the dreams of our youth, the ever lasting mystery of imagination, the freedom to still dream, and the un-compromising depth of adventure. --- Excerpt Written By - G.K.
